Ian is a partner at Murray Hay and has over 30 years experience in handling residential and commercial property transactions and associated matters. He originally established the firm in Putney 1988 as a high street practice predominantly specialising in property. Over the years the firm has grown and expanded into other areas but Ian has concentrated on property and runs an experienced and efficient team dealing with all aspects of property transactions.
A Partner in the firm with over 30 years experience of handling all property matters, and in particular commercial property and business related matters. He specialises in commercial property acquisition and disposal, together with all Landlord and Tenant and Property Management issues. He is also fully conversant with property finance and can provide corporate services in connection with property related transactions. Prior to becoming a partner with Murray Hay, he worked both in the City and in Hong Kong and in local private practice in Wimbledon.
Robert is a partner at Murray Hay and specialises in family law, with particular emphasis on divorce and its financial consequences and disputes between unmarried couples. Robert has practised family law since 1994 and has been accredited as a specialist by Resolution, an organisation of family lawyers committed to a constructive resolution of family disputes.
Robert has trained as a mediator and is focused on providing cost effective advice to bring about a settlement reached in a civilised manner without losing sight of his clients’ interests.
Robert can assist with advising on pre-nuptial agreements and specialises in separation, divorce and related financial issues. Robert can also advise on children and parenting issues and generally on cohabitation and couples already living together or planning to live together.
Sheridan is a barrister and spent many years as head of the legal department of a large retail organisation and has also worked for various financial institutions and firms of solicitors. She has recently joined Murray Hay bringing a wide range of experience to the area of private client work to include Wills, Trusts, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Tax and contentious probate issues.
Lisa is employed in the residential property department and has been with the firm for 25 years joining shortly after Ian Hay originally set up the initial practice. She therefore has many years’ experience in dealing with all types of residential property transactions.
Rebecca is an assistant to Ian Hay and assists in residential property matters.
Kathryn has been with Murray Hay since 2009 and is a litigation solicitor with a diverse background. Originally qualifying as a barrister she then cross qualified as a solicitor and has a background in various types of litigation with a speciality in property based litigation and landlord and tenant law.
She specialises in various aspects of property litigation and property dispute resolution. Her areas of expertise include possession proceedings, recovery of rent arrears, service charge claims, mortgage possession claims and contested enfranchisement matters. Kathryn also acts for both landlords and tenants in relation to leasehold enfranchisement claims, right to manage and rights of first refusal claims.
Kathryn is keen to achieve the best solution for her clients’ needs and is experienced in negotiating and mediation. She is focused on achieving successful results whether through alternative dispute resolution or litigation.
Jung joined Murray Hay in Jun 2017. She had completed her LLB at the University of London and finished her LPC at the University of Westminster. She completed her training contract in Duncan Lewis and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of England & Wales in March 2015. She deals with residential/commercial transactions, commercial services including business immigration and employment issues, property disputes, TOLATA 1996 part 8 claim, Children Act Applications and Private Family Law including Injunction Applications. She has extensive knowledge of CPR and costs law.
Jung qualified in the areas of Landlord and Tenant Law, Public Law and Family Law. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Jung worked as a housing caseworker providing advice to clients facing homelessness, possession proceedings and other landlord and tenant related issues for more than 8 years. Since qualifying as a solicitor Jung has specialised in the areas of Homelessness and Judicial Review as well as Possession Proceedings, Public Law remedies and property disputes.
Jung has extensive experience in Judicial Review and High Court proceedings and her notable cases are the Court of Appeal in Taani v Hackney LBC  EWCA Civ (2016) October Legal Action 41 and Rolle v Tower Hamlets LBC  EWCA Civ 229 to deal with CPR 21, mental capacity.
Jung holds a BA in Fine Art & Painting from the Chelsea College of Fine Art. She previously studied French at the Université Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3, in France. Jung hails from Korea and has lived in Australia, France and Japan . She speaks Korean, Japanese and French. Her multilingual qualifications and her multinational experiences in life gives her an insight to people and their different problems and she uses this to provide a caring and sensitive service at all times.
